The workflow

Pick a section. Copy directly.

Follow one selected component from its website into a clean destination. The extension captures appearance; it does not recover the original application’s code or behavior.

Recorded local CopyLook selection and copying. Preview is optional; the numbered steps below describe the journey.
  1. 01

    Activate CopyLook

Open an ordinary website and activate CopyLook from Chrome’s toolbar.

  2. 02

    Select a section

Click text or background to select its whole section. Choose Single element for a smaller detail; Parent and Child refine it.

  3. 03

    Copy its code

Once prepared, use Copy in the selection controls. Paste into your project or AI coding assistant. Preview is optional.

Make the selection useful

Select a section with CopyLook instead of activating its original link or button. Use Parent to include the surrounding component, or Child to choose a more focused part. Pick Again returns to selection.

Inspect when needed

Copy is available in the selection controls. Preview opens only when requested, and Copy stays visible while you inspect preview, code or CSS. Adaptable output preserves recoverable layout rules; it does not invent a new mobile design. Match source size is available in More → Settings & saved result. Material problems are shown immediately; More holds the detailed notes.

When available, Source viewport uses the original page width; older saved results use the captured component width. Fit viewport scales only the displayed inspection viewport, with a percentage and Preview only label. At source width, a visible note identifies content below the captured viewport. More height is beside the fit controls; it expands the inspection viewport and can change height-based layout. Actual size and native scrolling help inspect details. A transparent selection can use an inspection backdrop; it is not added to copied code.

Choose a destination

HTML works in a plain page with its included styling. JSX needs a React project. Tailwind needs the documented Tailwind setup. Original image and font links still need to load in the destination.

Keep the copy count predictable

A successful first clipboard copy of a capture uses one allowance. Previewing, cancelling, a failed clipboard write and changing formats use none. Recopying that same capture uses no extra allowance.
